The Job Hunt

Hey Sisters,

I interrupt this holiday break to bring you this announcement: I have a job interview on Tuesday morning and need ALL the positive energy, well wishes, etc, that I can muster. So I am asking for a few extra thoughts that day.

I've been unemployed since I was let go in August, and Tuesday's interview is for a position that could (in theory at least) reshape my life. It's not only a career change, but a gigantic step up.

In other news, I remembered I haven't typed anything about it here - my girlfriend and I went to Tanzania in September to volunteer. It was amazing!! We traveled over with the same non-profit, but were placed at two different local organizations. She worked with a group that specialized in vocational education for AIDS orphans, and I worked with a group hell-bent on breaking down the stigma of HIV/AIDS in both the social and political realm.

It was such an incredible journey, and I cannot wait to find a way to go back. And if homosexuality weren't illegal there, I'd seriously consider actually living in Tanzania. Whenever I'm stressed, I think of sitting under the stars and the banana trees just talking the night away with locals and friends...
